Trouble paying by creditcard?

From August 11, it will no longer be possible to pay with bank cards that only have BankAxept, or with cards that are not approved for offline payments when purchasing a ticket.

Why is this happening?
The payment system on the buses requires that cards support offline and international payment systems (such as Visa or Mastercard). Bank cards that only have the BankAxept function will therefore no longer be supported.

How do I know what type of card I have?

Check your card:

• Does it only say BankAxept, without a Visa or Mastercard logo?
  → Then it will not work on the bus from August 11.

• Do you have a card with both BankAxept + Visa/Mastercard logos?
  → Then you can still use it, as long as the Visa/Mastercard function is activated and it can be used on offline payment terminals.
  → Remember to activate contactless payment in your bank.
  → Not sure if your bank card supports offline payments and contactless? Contact your bank!

What you can do instead:

1. Use the new VKT App
   Download it from the App Store or Google Play.
   Buy your ticket before boarding. You can pay with Vipps or a bank card in the app.
   You can also receive tickets sent from family or friends via the new VKT app.

2. Use your travel card
   You can top up your travel card in our online store at vkt.no, or at our customer service center and sales offices.

3. Buy a ticket at a customer service center or sales office

4. Pay with cash
   It is still possible to buy a ticket with cash on board.

If you still wish to pay with a bank card, we recommend contacting your bank for a solution.
